Belong
The Bible talks about Christians belonging to each other like brothers and sisters or parents and children belong to each other. Family relationships can’t be broken, (however difficult they might be!) and to be good they need time and energy invested in them. This is some of what we spend our time doing at Crossnet.
Crossnet is currently working this out as the 'Crossnet Community'. We will commit to each other for 9 months with the aim of growing as disciples and helping each other in this too. Our community members will each sign up to 'promises' which we will, together, aim to achieve within our community. Our promises are as follows:
Together, and with
God’s help, we commit ourselves to become disciples and to
help others become better disciples of Jesus.
We will…
1. Seek to obey the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
2. Set aside time each day for prayer, worship and reading of Scripture.
3. Seek to be a blessing to those around us, demonstrating love for one
another, and working for justice and truthfulness in our relationships.
4. Seek to share our faith with those around us in word and deed, and
to pray for those who do not yet know Jesus.
This commitment will last until the end of next June.
We are committed to helping to meet Crossnet’s financial
budget for this period (which we estimate will be about
£10,000).
Our understanding of Discipleship is outlined in greater detail in the discipleship
