'Unleashing the Excitement and Dynamic of Scripture'

Bible for Life is an approach that gets to the heart of scripture, by asking three straightforward questions of each Bible Book;
  1. Context - Of both the author and the recipient
  2. Purpose - Why was the book written and what are the main messages?
  3. Application - What does this mean to the way we live our lives?
    So for example, the letter to the Galatians (context) was written by a very agitated Paul because the             Galatian disciples were choosing to be circumcised. (Main argument) Paul shows that every man who         does this "falls from grace and is alienated from Christ". Every person is called to believe in Jesus (and         therefore be justified before God, and "live by the Spirit". The primary application is 'don't take on the         yoke of the Old Testament law, but believe in Christ, live by the Spirit and love one another.

Each session lasts 90 minutes, and follows a general outline;

This is an excellent foundation for Discipleship Coaching with individuals. The Application section focuses on the leading imperatives in the book, and time is give to studying one 'Holy Habit' in detail.

Guidance is given about studying the book in preparation for a 'discipleship discussion' a fortnight later, where those committed to applying scripture can ask further questions and look at the book in more depth.
