Groups at Crossnet

Along with Mission, our main priority at Crossnet is discipleship. We like all our members to be in some sort of group as it's such a good way to be involved. They are great for praying, growing, learning, being honest about the ups and downs of life, support, doing community projects, praying for others and a whole lot more. We encourage people to join a group that will suit their lifestyle and timetable, or to get some people to form a new one. To find out more about groups, ask Nick, Lucy or Sarah

Pods:

Pods are groups of 2 or 3 that meet weekly. If you join a Pod, you commit to reading Scripture weekly and then discussing it with your group, being accountable to the others in your Pod and praying weekly for your friends. They are really good for getting to know a few people well and great for people who want to be more engaged but sometimes lack the discipline!

Mentoring

A few of us at Crossnet are involved in mentoring. This involves meeting regularly on a one-to-one basis or with a small group of others with a mentor. The frequency of meetings and the topics covered will depend on the mentor and what the group or individual is wanting to get out of it. Mentoring at Crossnet is generally for those who are wanting to lean what it means to put Jesus' teaching in practice and involved quite a lot of commitment. We try to cover a range of topics to do with living the Christian life and what it means to follow Jesus. This will include things like: Covenant, the spiritual disciplines (studying Scripture, prayer, worship), the spiritual gifts and how to grow in them, discovering God’s plan for your life, relationships (sex, love, marriage, forgiveness, anger etc.), Christian doctrine and some crucial concepts for understanding the Christian faith and possibly some other things!

Praying with Others

If you would prefer to meet just to pray with friends then that's fine. We would encourage you to join with one or two others in a prayer triplet or prayer partnership. These can be great for getting to know others deeply and being real about the struggles and joys of life.
