Prayer

Prayer is central to the Crossnet community. Luke’s gospel, and his history of Acts shows that every new initiative and phase of ministry was initiated in prayer. We try and follow this example. We love to pray, we love to join others praying, and we love it when others can join in praying with us. Jesus taught us to pray to God as ‘Our Father’ with the empowering of the Holy Spirit. We try and keep our prayer times varied and lively. The gospels are full of promises about prayer and the effectiveness of prayer.

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Mark 11:24 & 25

When and How: We hold an open, informal prayer meeting once a week and all get together for half a night’s of prayer once a term. During the holidays, we pray in 2’s and 3’s in each other’s houses. The early missionaries to Britain followed a monastic pattern of prayer through the day and we encourage our members to follow such a pattern. We try and include prayer into the ebb and flow of our lives, so often when we meet for meals in our homes we will spend a little time praying together.

Please do join in praying with us. Details of the next times of prayer are on the calendar.
