Students at Crossnet

Student–friendly

Since almost the beginning of Crossnet, we’ve had students as and important part of our church. As well as a Sunday afternoon service, we have a mid-week gathering for those whose weekends are busy. We are informal and relaxed, and like to make our mid-week meeting accessible to those who may have questions about the Christian faith.

The Hard Questions

Being a student can be an amazing, but sometimes quite a disorientating and intense time. We know that university life can raise hard questions for young people but we also believe that there are really good Christian answers to the hard questions. Our talks and sermons address some of these issues and we always make time afterwards for questions and discussions.

Family

Learning to follow Jesus Christ is not necessarily an easy process, but is always fulfilling and rewarding. We have a system of mentoring and discipleship in our church through 'pods', 'huddles' and one-to-one’s to nurture young people in the Christian faith. We would encourage all our church members to be in either a pod, huddle or a mentoring relationship. These are places where we can learn, be accountable, be cared for, and learn to care for others.

Students!

Challenging

We encourage each other all the time to move forward into all that God has for us, to grow in Christ-likeness, maturity, Bible-study, prayer, spiritual gifts and all those kind of things, in order that we can live our lives as Christians well. We invest time, effort and prayer into young people and expect them to grow while at Crossnet.

Leisure - "Easy like Sunday morning"

We have regular Sunday lunches, a student weekend away, and generally make time for eating, drinking and hanging out together. These are great opportunities for us all to get to know each other better, and there is also an open invitation to friends who are not part of our church to come along. The students at Crossnet are committed to each other and welcoming to newcomers. They are an interesting, friendly and open group of people.

So, if you’re a student in Bristol, then come along and meet us and see what you think. We’d love to see you!
